Kurzbeschreibung
aktuell nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar
At the natural park Lagoni di Mercurago the ancient peatland preserves a pile dwelling dated to the Middle Bronze Age, discovered in the nineteen fifties and sixties. The best-known exhibits are the wooden wheels, saved at the time of discovery because plaster casts were made immediately. Other important finds, such as weapons and personal ornaments, are proof that the village was part of a vast network for commerce and exchange of technical knowledge. Unluckily, intense peat extraction during the mid-nineteenth century has irreparably damaged part of the archaeological site, still surrounded by the scenic landscape of the Lagoni.
